He began his piano studies at the age of seven at the Jerusalem Conservatory of Music and Dance, and later at the Tel Aviv Academy (today known as the Buchman-Mehta Schol of Music). In 1995 he received a full scholarship to Mannes School of Music in Manhattan. Ariel's performances have taken him to prestigious stages in New York including Merkin Hall, Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the London Gallery, Gracie Mansion, among others. In Israel he has been heard at Jerusalem Music Centre, the Jerusalem Theater, the Tel Aviv Museum, the Mormon University and other important venues. He also performed in Switzerland, England, France, Germany and Hungary. As soloist with orchestra Ariel played with Bach Camerata (nowadays the Camerata Pacifica) in California, and with Israel Chamber Orchestra, and the Herzlyia and Ra'anana Orchestras in Israel. Ariel is also a passionateand dedicated teacher and is currently on faculty at the Israel Arts and Science Academy (where he himself graduated in the year 1994) and the JCMD, both located in Jerusalem, as well as West Herzliya Conservatory and Ra'anana Music Center in central Israel. Among his students are AIFC scholarship winners, as well as prizewinners of other competitions. He is particulary attuned to the piano music of Brahms, and the current CD attests to his mastery and special affinity for his music. The accompanying booklet contains the artist's extensive notes about the works. |
