This release represents the Friedland-Zak Duo's first recording. They
began performing together in 1993 and have appeared in concerts and
festivals in Israel as well as in Europe. On this CD the Duo plays five
of the greatest pieces ever written for piano duet. The pieces by Chopin,
Lutoslawski, Mozart and Ravel were written for two pianos, while the
Schubert is for duet on one piano. Here is music making of the highest
order, with variety in programming and utterly delightful execution. |
